(The girls return from their secret mission.)
Parent: So, how did your secret mission go?
Child: Oh, I think it was a huge success.
Parent: Yeah?
Child: We were very stealthy, weren’t we Roz?
Roz: Yeah. In and out. No one saw us.
Parent: Well, did you accomplish what you wanted?
Child: Yeah. I think it’s nice when good things happen to people, for no reason. Don’t you?
Parent: Absolutely. The world needs more acts of kindness like that.
Child: In school, we were talking about what happens when people do bad things to each other.
Parent: Oh. What happens?
Child: Well, being mean to each other kind of spreads, like a disease.
Parent: What do you mean?
Child: Our teacher said that if we expect that other people are mean or don’t like us, it can kind of make it come true.
Parent: So why the shoveling?
Child: Well, Roz and I figured that if being mean to people spreads, maybe being nice to people might spread.
Parent: Wow! You two are quite the thinkers. You should look that up on the Internet and see if anyone else has figured that out.
Child: Good idea Mom.
Parent: Oh, before you go. Mr. Williams called to thank you for shoveling his walk.
